What is SLE?
SLE stands for S: Safe, L: Less-vinyl, and E: Elastomer. It is a type of platinum silicone developed through material and process innovation. By adjusting the ratio of components in the silicone mix, especially by reducing the amount of vinyl, we achieved the unique properties of SLE.In silicone production, vinyl is a key ingredient used to improve fluidity, making the material easier to handle during molding and increasing production success rates. However, vinyl has two major downsides: it is expensive and reduces the elasticity of silicone.
To address this, we lowered the vinyl content and introduced automated silicone injection equipment. This allowed us to maintain high production efficiency and quality, even with reduced flowability. As a result, the new silicone not only lowered production costs but also significantly improved elasticity.
Because these advancements involve not just the material but also upgrades in mold development, production processes, and equipment, we gave this new generation of dolls a unique name — SLE — to distinguish them from dolls made with traditional silicone and methods.
